Winterizing

Why should you winterize? With colder temperatures on the way, it’s important to understand the risks they pose to your irrigation system!

If you forget to winterize your sprinklers, you run the risk of water freezing in the irrigation valves, pipes, and sprinkler heads. When water freezes, it expands, which can cause parts of your system to burst, thereby destroying your sprinkler system. The best way to guard against frozen or ruptured pipes is to have an irrigation professional ‘winterize’ your system by flushing out the pipes and shutting it down. This not only saves your landscape from damage but also ensures that your system will be ready to run when warm weather returns.
